Volkswagen Tiguan third generation spotted for the first time during tests

Volkswagen has begun development of a new third-generation Tiguan crossover, as evidenced by new spy photos taken in the Alps the day before. The model that replaced the generation is believed to debut in 2024 and get an all-electric modification.

Test mules (cars in current bodywork on which new units are being tested) have stepped into the camera lens, so no conclusions can be drawn yet about the appearance of the third Tiguan. Notable, however, are the grille caps and the absence of visible exhaust pipes, and this indicates that we have electric vehicles in front of us.

However, according to our foreign colleagues from Carscoops, Wolfsburgers will not refuse adaptations with traditional combustion engines, despite the fact that Volkswagen has focused on “green” transport. True, there is no information about which engines and gearboxes the next Tiguan will receive. Most likely, the units will remain the same, the only thing is that they can be modernized, adapted to tightened environmental standards.

One can only hope that the Russians will also appreciate the new Volkswagen Tiguan. After all, the prospects of the brand in the domestic market today are very vague: deliveries from abroad are “frozen”, the factories in Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod have been shut down. In addition, the latter site is already preparing for closure, as the AvtoVzglyad portal describes in detail here.
