At the recent STT Expo 2022 exhibition, the Chinese brand JAC showed the Sunray all-metal van, which could become a real alternative to the Ford Transit model, which temporarily (hopefully) left the Russian market. However, this same Sunray has long been produced at the Belarusian factory “Brestmash” under the brand name MAZ!
For the first time, MAZ decided to offer the Belarusian-Chinese LCV to Russian carriers. Model 365022 is a 12 cc van with a payload of 760 to 1150 kg. The gross weight (depending on the version) can range from 3490 to 4050 kg, so you need a Category C driver’s license to drive heavy versions. In addition, based on the van, a minibus has been created that can transport 9 or 15 passengers.
All versions are equipped with a two-litre turbo diesel, which is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. The cars have independent spring suspension at the front and dependent spring suspension at the rear. The brakes of all wheels are disc brakes.
Dealers of the MAZ brand have not yet disclosed how much the novelty will cost. In Belarus, a simple, but well-equipped van is offered for 3,200,000 rubles. For reference, an all-metal Ford Transit can now be purchased for 3,900,000 rubles.
Meanwhile, MAZ introduced a new generation of city trucks. Until the end of this year, Minskers plans to produce a trial run of 10 such machines. Mazovians assure that the first edition was purchased by one customer.
