In Russia, the price of LPG could rise radically

At one time, the Russian authorities introduced a fuel tax, promising that the new system would eventually abolish the transport tax. As a result, of course, the tax was not canceled and about 20% of the cost of each liter of gasoline and diesel fuel falls on this excise tax.

Excise taxes helped fill the country’s budget in the amount of 420.3 billion rubles. At least 75% was sent to the regions to replenish road funds, making it possible to repair many roads across the country. So it’s not surprising that officials wanted to “excise” other types of fuel, especially fuel for gas engines.

So, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin proposed to consider the possibility of introducing excise duties on gasoline motor fuel in the same way as the excise tax on gasoline and diesel is now Valid.

So far, this is just a proposal from a certain official … But as natural gas is becoming more and more popular (especially in public transport), it is even strange that such an idea has not reached the authorities before.

Of course, if such a decision is made, methane and propane-butane will increase noticeably in price. And in this case, the vast majority of motorists will think about whether to switch their car to gas that has risen sharply in price.
