Imports of passenger cars from China to Russia have fallen to nearly $32 million in May since April, from $84.6 million in April. Imports of spare parts collapsed in March. Subsequently, the country imported several auto parts worth $76.3 million, up from $117.1 million a month earlier.
The publication notes that the actual absence of European brands, as well as the fact that AVTOVAZ has suspended its work, did not contribute to an increase in deliveries. This situation is explained by weak demand, logistics problems and logdowns in China due to covid.
Still, interest in Chinese cars is growing among Russians. To date, five manufacturers from China are in the top 20 most popular brands in Russia.
