In addition, a similar statement was even made by the new head of the auto giant, Maxim Sokolov. However, according to the AvtoVzglyad portal’s own information, so far there are no requirements for restarting the Nivovsky conveyor.

The biggest problem, potentially delaying production of the LADA Niva until early September, has been the lack of engine-assembly components. It seems that in a primitive atmospheric engine 1.7, which finds its ancestors in the Zhiguli, everything should be domestic! But no. Some of the components, including valves, were supplied from abroad.

Now Russian analogues are hastily selected for imported parts, their own sources told the editors of the AvtoVzglyad portal. Moreover, according to them, the process drags on, and if at least a hundred Nivs leave the assembly line before the end of July, that is a miracle.

AvtoVAZ itself chose not to comment on the information we received, calling it rumours.

But there is a comment from the head of the auto giant Maxim Sokolov about other LADA models. Thus, the release of the LADA Vesta NG family will be restored no earlier than 2023. As for LADA Largus, which is produced by the Togliatti site, the assembly line for this model will begin to operate “in the medium term”.

And it also became known that AVTOVAZ will soon begin the development of a new automotive platform, the creation of which, according to the most conservative estimates, will take 3-4 years. The aforementioned LADA Vesta will form the basis of the upcoming architecture.
