The Supreme Electoral Court (TSE), presented last Tuesday (21), Anti-Election Disinformation Alert System. The platform promises to make it easier to report disinformation and report cases of fake news, mass shootings and data leaks during the 2022 election period.

Minister Edson Fachin was the one who introduced the platform. The TSE states that this tool will increase resilience in dealing with the negative effects of the spread of disinformation and fake news. “THEN The tool will also receive reports of threats to polling stations, registry offices or electoral justice buildings and unverified information about alleged electoral fraud, vote fraud and counting, or certification of election results.“.
The Election Misinformation Alert System will only investigate complaints related to the 2022 elections. The platform may report misrepresentation of voting time, place, and documents, as well as the use of false accounts on behalf of the electoral justice system.
How does the Platform work?
The anti-election disinformation alert system is easy to use for citizens. Just go to the official page and click on the “Register Alert” section located at the bottom of the page. By clicking on the option, the system will offer a choice of 5 types of complaints:
- dangerous speech;
- disinformation;
- Mass executions;
- Evidence of dishonest behavior;
- Data leak/cyber incident.

If you select one of the above options, the system will open new fields to fill in so that the user can add additional information about the complaint. You will need to provide some data, such as the name of the site where the content is broadcast, the link, whether the link contains videos, whether the complaint has been verified by the reviewing agency, and other information. Just fill in all fields to make a report with ease.

The TSE said that complaints will be forwarded to partner review agencies, who will be responsible for reviewing the information. Depending on the severity, reports received may also be sent directly to the Ministry of Population’s Elections (MPE).
It is important to note that the platform will not investigate violations related to candidate behavior and false reports against candidates. These complaints must be reported through another TSE application called Pardal. The app is available for free download for iOS and Android.
