In commercial transport there is the term “scrap truck” – this is a special truck, sharpened for the transport of non-ferrous and ferrous scrap. Recently, carriers prefer to order scrap cars on European chassis. But now the place of the “Europeans” who left the market is being taken by brands from “friendly countries”.

So, the production of scrap cars on the Korean Daewoo Novus chassis began at the TFK “Phoenix” plant. The machine has a 6×4 wheel formula and is equipped with a new generation Doosan 350 hp engine – it has an in-line arrangement of cylinders instead of a V-shaped one.

The dump platform is made of high-strength steel S500MS, an analogue of the Swedish sanctioned steel DOMEX-500, which is produced by the Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works. (Remember that superstructure manufacturers were very concerned about the lack of metal supplies from Sweden).

Up to 13 tons of scrap can be transported in a 30 cubic meter body, and the CMU with a load capacity of 3 tons is used for loading. The VM10L74M crane manipulator was produced at the Velmash-S factory, the leading Russian manufacturer of manipulators for loading wood and scrap.

In general, after the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, builders, road builders and fair hauliers are forced to look for an urgent replacement for the Big European Seven trucks. Such a replacement, as considered by the AvtoVzglyad portal, is formally available, but there are some nuances.
