The Civil Chamber of the Russian Federation (OP) became aware of the need for a radical overhaul of the traffic rules. In this regard, members began to discuss possible changes to the traffic rules and opened a collection of proposals from citizens on this topic. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.

The OP held a meeting dedicated to the creation of a new version of the SDA, taking into account not only current conditions, but also changes that may occur in traffic in the future. During the proposal, the deputy chairman of the interregional “Commission for the Protection of the Rights of Car Owners”, Alexander Kholodov, proposed that in the future version of the SDA take into account not only the existence of means of individual mobility , unmanned vehicles, but also the emergence of … flying cars.

For example, to answer the question in the Rules: who should yield to whom when one flying car takes off and the other is about to land. At the meeting, the collection of proposals from citizens of Russia to change the traffic rules was also announced (this project was launched on the OP’s website). In addition, the meeting participants decided that the traffic rules should be rewritten in a language understandable to the common man, and also proposed to draw up special traffic rules for each of the categories of drivers: motorcyclists, drivers of cars, trucks and all others. The participants in the meeting in the Public Chamber apparently have no suspicion about the existing multitudes of inconsistencies and contradictions in the current version of the SDA.

Since, judging by Rossiyskaya Gazeta’s report of the event, no one there remembered them. About, for example, that traffic regulations now require the driver of the car to move to the farthest row of the lane before making a turn. Meanwhile in cities everywhere at intersections with signs and markings you can turn from different rows. Or a paradox, according to which the driver must yield to a pedestrian when turning, and when turning has the right to ignore the “pedestrian”.

In the current traffic regulations there is no clear definition of the intersection of carriageways. Meanwhile, the signs are valid until this most “non-existent” intersection. And the OP meanwhile discusses the problems of flying cars. Nevertheless, according to a number of experts, the amendment of the traffic regulations is necessary:

– The current traffic rules were adopted in 1993 and have been amended several times since then. Today we live in a new reality, where the means of individual mobility – electric scooters, unicycles, gyro scooters and others, have become an integral part of our lives. At the same time, their management is practically not regulated by traffic regulations. Accidents involving electric vehicles for individual use are also not uncommon. Technologies continue to develop rapidly and today you also see unmanned vehicles on the road, the characteristics of which must also be taken into account. In my opinion, there are no reasons for a thorough review of the traffic rules today, but it is also impossible to do without some changes,” said Matvey Gordienko, founder of the digital driving school “Baranka”.
