But it is impossible to solve the problem of the unstoppable hunger for fuel alone … Although, again, the engineers of the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant have long been developing turbocharged engines of various sizes.
It is worth calling your own diesel engine for a long time … The situation with the Ford engine is also complicated: it simply does not fit under the hood of a UAZ SUV! Now, however, this fact does not matter. Most likely, the project for the production of a two-liter diesel engine at the facilities of the former Ford plant will have to be closed altogether.
What must we do? There is a very simple recipe. GAZ Group will soon start producing localized turbo diesel. There is a reasonable assumption that these will be 2.0 and 2.5 liter Chinese Foton units. They are put on the “Gazelle”, “Sable” and “Valdai”. And certainly to sell to everyone, because “business is business”.
And if UAZ wants to buy such an engine, then the gas workers are unlikely to be stubborn. And this will be a good reason not only to make a decent car from the Patriot, but also to end the “motorcycle wars”. Recall that the GAZ group owns the Ulyanovsk Motor Plant, and the Sollers Group owns the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant, and therefore ZMZ is placed on Uzaiki, and UMP – on Gaziki.
