Vadim Shvetsov formally no longer has anything to do with the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. He sold a majority stake in Sollers Auto to four top managers of Sollers Group. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.
So 76.7% of the shares of Sollers Auto, owned by Vadim Shvetsov’s Sollers Group, were sold to Alter Invest, a company that was founded literally 10 days ago. According to registration data, Alter Invest LLC is 39.5% owned by the head of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant and Sollers Ford, Adil Shirinov. Slightly less – 35.5% of the shares – is held by the general manager of Sollers Auto and Sollers Group Nikolai Sobolev. A further 20% of Alter Invest is owned by Sollers Auto’s deputy general manager Zoya Kaika. The remaining 5% went to Viktor Khvesene, Sollers Auto’s deputy general manager for legal affairs.
According to Kommersant sources, the buying and selling transaction was not nominal, but quite monetary. It is known that the capitalization of Sollers Auto on the Moscow Stock Exchange at that time was 5.8 billion rubles. Consequently, the stake in Sollers Auto, which changed hands, was estimated at about 4.5 billion rubles.
On the news of the sale, stock prices of Sollers stock rose 8.24%. According to unofficial data, Vadim Shvetsov has been treating his car item called UAZ with great coolness for quite some time. Last year, the Russian Prado project was even “buried” – the development of a new generation of four-wheel drive Ulyanovsk vehicles. At the same time, for example, the factory lost its automotive polygon, which Sollers “optimizers” considered a non-core asset.
Although without field testing it is physically impossible to make new machines and upgrade old models. After the events of late February, UAZ was subject to Western sanctions, as it is a supplier of vehicles to the Russian military. It is possible that this event, as well as problems with the production of cars due to the deplorable situation with the supply of components to the UAZ conveyor, ultimately made it a burden for Sollers and Mr. Shvetsov.
