Massive traffic jams are now piling up in front of checkpoints on the Belarus-Lithuanian border. Let’s take an example. At the Kamenny Log checkpoint, 960 trucks were waiting their turn on July 28, 500 of which were allowed to pass by Lithuanian customs officials, but only 192 cars were allowed through. As a result, truck drivers, while waiting for a pass, are forced to spend up to 5 days before the border.

This situation has led to the emergence of new vacancies: a large Belarusian company engaged in the transport of goods offers to anyone who wants to queue with their car at the border to keep their place . And as soon as the “track” moves strongly forward, a truck approaches instead of a passenger car.

You can earn 100 Belarusian rubles per day of waiting, which at the current exchange rate is equivalent to 2100 Russian rubles. At the same time, the company is ready to handle a professional waiting list. It is realistic to receive 1,500 Belarusian (or 31,700 Russian) rubles per month for such work.

And move on to the subject of customs. A flood of guests from neighboring Lithuania poured into the Republic of Belarus, seeking cheap fuel, cigarettes and food. As a result, Lithuanian border guards believed that such “tours” undermined the country’s economy and therefore came up with new obstacles to discourage fellow citizens from “gasoline tourism”.
