The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum went silent on June 18, and now the Innoprom exhibition will become the main source of news. However, the echoes of the event that the northern capital hosted keep coming, even now.

It turns out that an agreement has been signed at SPIEF between the Irkutsk Region Development Corporation and the Sichuan Bus Company. The parties agreed to establish a joint Russian-Chinese production of electric vehicles and electric buses.

The partners managed to develop a roadmap for the project and set up a working group to implement it. In turn, the government of Irkutsk is looking for a production site to accommodate the future car factory.

However, as practice has shown, the influx of mass cars from China not only has not happened so far, but is also not expected in the near future. Why the Russians began to massively turn away from new cars from China, the AvtoVzglyad portal says.
