DJI released a new firmware update for the drone this week. mini 3 pro and for control DJI RC, the company’s cheapest model with an integrated display. While the firmware update for the Mini 3 Pro drone brought important optimizations, bug fixes, and new features, the new firmware for the DJI RC controller highlighted support for the Mavic 3 drone and now adds another control option for DJI’s best consumer drone.

DJI store in Brazil

The DJI RC Controller is priced at $309 when sold separately from other kits. In comparison, the DJI Mini 3 Pro kit with RC controller (drone, RC controller and battery) costs $909, while the quadcopter and battery only kit costs $669, a difference of $240.

If sold separately, the RC controller will cost more due to the fact that it is not included. Perhaps DJI will release the Mavic 3 RC Controller and Drone combo together as an alternative for those looking for a cheaper model than the $4999 Mavic 3 Cine Premium with RC Pro Controller combo.

Along with support for Mavic 3 drones, DJI RC also supports O3+ (OcuSync 3+) technology, which at best allows the drone to be controlled at a distance of up to 15 km.

The Mavic 3 can now be controlled by three different controllers: RC-N1, RC, and RC Pro, a more complete version with a built-in screen, a larger, better quality display, an HDMI output connection that allows you to connect an external screen-to-screen feed, and the ability to installation of various Android applications that work exactly like a smartphone. This is one of the biggest limitations of the RC controller as it doesn’t allow you to install apps other than DJI Fly, i.e. if the user needs to use apps like Litchi, DroneDeploy or even traditional apps like Instagram, Facebook. etc. RC Pro, since it is not possible to install any application on the RC controller, at least not yet.
