This Friday (1) Ford Brazil has established itself as a global center for the export of engineering services in the country. Based in the state of Bahia, a company with 1500 employees from Center for Development and Technology showed that employees are working on cutting-edge projects aimed at the future of mobility, such as electric, autonomous and connected vehicles.

According to the company, the Center should receive income from BRL 500 million in 2022. In a video posted today on Ford Brasil’s official YouTube channel, Ford South America President Daniel Justo, along with some team members, unveiled the new Design Center structure, focusing on building technologies that promise to shape the future of mobility.

It is worth noting that the Ford Brasil Development and Technology Center is one of nine companies around the world where 85% work is focused on global projects.

Daniel Justo also says: “Continuous innovation is the difference between companies that will grow and those that will disappear in this ever-changing world. This brings us to another major problem: the ever-increasing demand for engineers and specialists. In this scenario, we saw an opportunity to expand our business by exporting engineering services to major Ford markets around the world, taking advantage of the creativity, versatility and solid experience of our people.”

The company’s development and technology center has a structure that includes headquarters in Camasari and an idea center in Salvador, Bahia. In addition to the Development and Testing Center in Tatuy, São Paulo, and the structure in Pacheco, Argentina, which is dedicated to improving the quality of the Ford Ranger.

The company also emphasizes that it invests in research and has registered more than 70 global patents with projects related to network connectivity, artificial intelligence and big data. The Ford National Team, which is responsible for creating and expanding one-third of the features built into Ford vehicles worldwide, is also working to develop a new design language for future Lincoln electric vehicles.
