The governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, believes that the Russian authorities are quite capable of building special routes “from Russia to Russia” – by road and rail. True, this requires the consent of Lithuania.
The head of the 39th region proposed to organize a transport corridor along which it would be possible to follow without entering the territory of Lithuania. But as the governor of Kaliningrad rightly pointed out, the implementation of this project requires negotiations (and especially obtaining permission) with the authorities of Lithuania and the European Union.
Recall that the idea itself arose against the background of Lithuanian sanctions, which prohibit the transport of certain types of products from Kaliningrad. The Kremlin called such restrictions illegal, “a violation of everything and everyone”, and also said Moscow was preparing retaliatory measures.
The sanctions restrictions list itself is a 49-page document, which lists trucks and special equipment, among other things. In turn, the AvtoVzglyad portal found out how the bans of the Baltic state threaten the Russian car industry.
