Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin visited the former Renault plant in Moscow, renamed Moskvich, and participated in the ceremony of signing an agreement with PJSC KAMAZ on the production of a line of passenger cars under the new brand at the company. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.

“Together with our technology partner, we have prepared a program for the resumption of operations at the now factory called Moskvich. In the first phase, we will deal with the SKD assembly of machines from countries that are friendly to us, in the second phase with a deeper localization of this production,” said Sobyanin.

The mayor took part in the signing of an agreement on cooperation in the development of passenger car transport between the government of Moscow and PJSC KAMAZz, which took place on the territory of the enterprise. During the event, journalists on stands with KAMAZ logos were shown a range of car models that would be produced in Moskvich. On closer inspection, they turned out to be depicting Chinese JAC cars.

The AvtoVzglyad portal easily identified the JAC S4 crossover in the “Model 1” in the “electric” and conventional (with an internal combustion engine) versions. “Model 2” is a JAC S6 crossover, “Model 3” appears to be a restyled version of the JAC J7 and “Model 4” is a JAC S7 crossover modeled after former Maserati designer Daniel Gallione.

No less curious is the fact that the KAMAZ passenger car, which journalists managed to call “Okoy-2022”, also turned out to be a car invented by craftsmen of JAC. We learned all about this project and even more: read more here.
