The AvtoVzglyad portal decided to find out which four-wheel drive cars are more popular among Russian buyers in such difficult economic conditions.
The all-wheel drive segment also suffered from the catastrophic decline in car sales in Russia. But even with the current dire state of the Russian crossover market, leaders can be distinguished. To address this issue, we studied the results of car sales for the first half of 2022 in our country. Note that a large portion of the sales of all models in our TOP-5 crossovers fell in the first two or three months of this year – for obvious reasons.
HYUNDAI CRETA
Be that as it may, at the moment the Hyundai Creta is the sales leader in the domestic crossover market. In January-June, Russian dealers of the brand sold 13,425 units of this model. It’s hard to talk about current price tags right now, as the official suggested retail price is one thing and the appetite of a particular car dealership is quite another. But at least we still have to focus on something and that’s why we’re going to work with brand-specific price lists from representative offices.
So, the cheapest Hyundai Creta starts from 1.8 million rubles. This equipment includes front-wheel drive, “mechanics” in the transmission and a 1.6-liter engine of 123 hp. In the maximum configuration for a 2-litre engine with a capacity of 150.l. with automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, they will ask for at least 2.3 million rubles.
LADA NIVA
In second place, by a narrow margin from the Korean frontrunner, is LADA Niva. 13,231 such cars were sold during the reporting period. The engine and transmission of this patriarch of the world’s crossover construction are unchanged for all trim levels. But in terms of equipment with options, the Niva has options. In this regard, the official price of the model ranges from 820,000 to 1.13 million rubles.
RENAULT DUSTER
Renault officially decided to flee Russia in May. However, the warehouse stocks of branded cars in our country are still sold out. Kia Seltos is way ahead of the top three in the segment. Since the beginning of this year, only 5,506 such “Koreans” have been sold. The price tag for this model starts at almost 2 million rubles. In the basic configuration, it has, as expected, a front-wheel drive, a manual gearbox and an “aspirated” working volume of 123 hp from 1.6 liters. And for a turbocharged engine of 177 horsepower, a 7-speed “robot” and a 4×4 in the transmission, prepare to pay from 2.7 million rubles.
HAVAL JOLION
Our TOP-5 is completed by the only representative of the “Celestial Empire” in it – Haval Jolion. It literally follows on the heels of the Korean competitor with a result of 5,296 units sold in six months. Price – from 2 million for front-wheel drive, “mechanics” and a 143 hp 1.5-liter turbo engine. If you prefer the four-wheel drive version with a 7-speed “robot” and a 150-horsepower 1.5-liter turbo engine, be prepared to count at least 2.5 million rubles at the cash register of a car dealer.
