In Russia, instead of MAZ trucks, they began to take “Ural” and “Chinese” trucks

After European truck manufacturers refused to deliver their vehicles to European customers, Minsk rejoiced: MAZ assumed that with one powerful blow it could capture a huge share of the Russian market. However, it turned out to be really quite different.

Despite the setbacks, new truck sales fell by only 18.8% in the first half of the year. In addition, out of 37,676 units of equipment, KamAZ vehicles accounted for 15,050 shipments. In second place, unexpected for many, was the Ural Automobile Plant, which managed to increase sales to 3,067 cars, with an impressive growth of 35.2%.

New GAZ truck registrations fell to 2,989 units in the first half of the year, a 34.1% drop. Apparently, small and medium-sized businesses no longer need the Valdai Next and Lawn Next medium-duty trucks.

The Chinese brand Shacman (Shaanxi) is not only doing well, but simply excellent. From January to June, the manufacturer’s dealers were able to sell 2,770 trucks, a sales increase of 3.1 times. And this is fourth in the ranking.

The MAZ brand now occupies only fifth place. Demand for Belarusian vehicles fell by 28.9%, leaving Minsk residents only able to transfer 2,027 vehicles to customers. And there’s a possibility the Mazovians will even let the Chinese brand Howo continue.

In general, domestic carriers quite quickly began to dismantle the comtrans of “heavenly” production. If you look not at half-yearly, but at weekly results, brands from China have confidently “chopped off” nearly 40 percent of the market share.
