5 innocent “summer” habits of a motorist, which threaten him with serious consequences
Media, blogs and social networks are now literally flooded with banal and copying life hacks about how and what a driver should do “to survive the heat”. The AvtoVzglyad portal has gathered some much more useful tips from the editors’ personal experience, which may actually save someone’s life and health along the way.

What do we most often associate with driving in the summer? That’s right: with the car windows open. Even if it is equipped with air conditioning. After all, it’s so wonderful to feel the warm gusts of air circling the cabin. Especially if you don’t drive through the concrete jungle of a metropolis with its exhaust fumes, but along a highway outside the city or along a local highway. But the problem is that in the summer, insects swarm out of the city. From harmless butterflies to aggressive wasps and cheeky horseflies with hornets. When such a “beast” is in the cabin, the driver is arbitrarily distracted from control in an attempt to neutralize the intruder, or at least prevent him from biting himself. Such stunts while driving sometimes end up ‘out of the blue’ in an accident. Therefore, it is better to close the windows and turn on the air conditioner!

From the same series – the way of driving barefoot. It seems like it’s hot and sweaty in shoes, but just right without them. Under normal circumstances, why not. But imagine if you suddenly had to brake urgently? Not the fact that it will turn out to be barefoot. Yes, and a bare foot can slip off the pedal in a critical situation. Plus, if you urgently need to jump out of the car (for whatever reason), run barefoot right to the very first pebble that accidentally landed on the curb. Or a piece of glass.

Now imagine how much of this stuff is sitting on the sidelines. There, in that case, you should not walk barefoot at all. Accordingly, and driving – too.

In the summer, it often happens that because of the bad weather, we put on extra clothes, and then the sun comes out and it gets very hot in it. So much so that sometimes not even the air conditioner saves when, through the windshield, straight at you, dressed in a thick coat, the rays of a relentless light source spew. Many drivers in such a situation, without stopping, start to shed too much. To explain that this is accompanied by an accident, we think that no one needs that. Therefore tolerate the heat in such a situation, or stop and undress calmly. Not only will you be healthier, but other participants in the movement will too.

If you pay attention to the behavior of your neighbors downstream, you will notice that many motorists in a traffic jam or when stopping at a traffic light begin to pick their noses enthusiastically. In the summer, this habit should be “tied up”. And not for aesthetic reasons. The fact is that warm weather promotes the reproduction of all kinds of bacteria, including pathogens. In winter, in the cold, for example by grabbing the handle of a filling nozzle at a gas station, you can hope with a high degree of certainty that the cold has killed most of the microorganisms left on it by the driver in front fueled by you.

And in the summer they will probably remain unharmed by this handle and feel great waiting for the next “owner”. Just like on the door handle at the entrance to the cash register of a gas station or, for example, on a supermarket cart that you pass by on the way. You take them, catch someone else’s infection there, and then pull it from your own nose onto your fingers… You shouldn’t do this if you don’t want to play “Russian Roulette” with other people’s bacteria.

Another bad “summer” habit is typical for passengers. But since the driver is generally solely responsible for their well-being during the journey, this is also his problem. We’re talking about the way some passengers put their feet on the “sill” under the windshield on the road or even stick their heels out of the car window. It looks cool and somehow even sexy. But God forbid, even a minor accident will happen right now! In a collision, a girl with legs sticking up is guaranteed to slip out of the seat belt, as it was not designed for such a way of working at all. At the same time, she runs the risk of not only “flying” through the cabin, but also of being injured by an activated airbag. Therefore, the passenger must keep their feet where they should be. It will be healthier. And the driver, in that case they will not be convicted of causing damage to the health of the satellite.
