Recall that the chief designer of UAZ personally promised that Ulyanovsk would prepare a whole family of “electric trains” – based on the “Hunter”, “Patriot” and “Profi”. From the original “UAZ” it was planned to leave not only bridges and transmission, but even a five-speed gearbox and electrical components of Chinese origin, including a compact electric motor with a power of 120 kW (that is, 163 hp) and 600 mm .
But now, as company representatives told Gazeta.ru, the project for the production of electric SUVs of the UAZ brand had to be frozen indefinitely due to sanctions. The revival of the project is possible if only the state provides the necessary support.
Well, the immediate prospects for the residents of Ulyanovsk are the release of “anti-sanction” models. After all, airbags, electronic systems and even fuel pump housings from European companies are no longer legally for sale.
In theory, for example, it is realistic to buy an anti-crisis Patriot for 1,545,000 rubles. However, the AvtoVzglyad portal, which the dealer of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant visited, saw completely different prices: in the Lux Premium package, brand new cars cost less than 3,000,000.
