Representatives of the “heavenly” auto industry continue to reach new heights in the Russian market. The second week of July, in particular, brought some rather unexpected news: for the first time, the best-selling foreign car was not a “Korean” or “French”, but a pure-bred “Chinese”.
Under the current conditions, a rare model can sell more than 300 cars sold per week… For example, from July 11 to July 17, Russians bought 260 Kia Rio and 259 Hyundai Creta. Chery Tiggo 7 PRO (240 units), Haval Jolion (240 units), Hyundai Solaris (225 units) and Geely Coolray (213 units) were also in similar demand.
But the subcompact Chinese crossover Chery Tiggo 4 almost broke the market record. So 282 such cars left car dealerships in the past seven days. So it was the “four” that became the best-selling foreign car in Russia!
We add that Tiggo 4 is the most affordable model of the Chery brand. This car is relatively young, as it entered the domestic market in the fall of 2019. In addition, the SUV managed to survive some time ago, albeit small, but an update.
