Repair of the most “killed” section begins on the M7 motorway

Recently, those who had to travel along the federal highway M7 were extremely dissatisfied with the state of the highway in the city of Pokrov: large potholes and deep ruts have appeared on the road. Unfortunately, the Uprdor “Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod” has decided not to start with a major overhaul of the broken part, but to limit itself to laying new asphalt.

On the stretch from the 102nd to the 104th kilometer of the M7 trunk road, the aim is to replace the worn coating and strengthen the shoulders. The road builders will also have to repair the subsoil on the most broken sections. In addition, specialists will repair more than 4 km of sidewalks, replace about 700 meters of railings, install more than 170 new road signs and apply horizontal thermoplastic road markings.

At the same time, the repairs will take a long time: the work started on Tuesday 19 July and will last until the end of October 2022. At the moment, the roadway is narrowed to one lane and the maximum speed of traffic is limited to 40 km/h.

Meanwhile, near the “black section” of the M7 motorway – this is a two-lane bypass of Vladimir – a high-speed alternative will appear very soon, as the state-owned company Avtodor promises to build a paid understudy as soon as possible.
