Since the beginning of the year, the traffic police have stopped 78,000 violations related to the rules for affixing number plates to cars. What are the only methods that motorists do not use in order not to fall under the view of cameras for the automatic recovery of traffic violations. Punishment was not long in coming.
For example, almost 10,000 car owners were banned under part 2 of art. 12.2 of the Code of Administrative Violations of the Russian Federation “Driving a vehicle in violation of the rules for installing state registration marks on it.” Among them are drivers who “cut” through Moscow in cars without license plates. Sanctions for such violations, we recall, include a fine of 5,000 rubles or deprivation of “rights” for up to three months.
It is noteworthy that some individuals place the “cans” at an angle, preventing the “all-seeing eye” from reading the license plates, as well as placing the numbers in unintended places. Many more sophisticated car owners deliberately sprinkle the plates with dirt, and especially gifted ones with hairspray. For such tricks, traffic police inspectors are held liable under Part 1 of the said article, which imposes a fine for an illegible registration number of a car worth 500 rubles.
By the way, the capital has recently started issuing license plates to car owners for vehicles with a new region code. It looks like there will be even more beautiful combinations on license plates in Moscow soon.
