Recall that the last package of restrictions affected the KamAZ concern, which, in addition to the car plant of the same name, includes the manufacturer of the transport company NefAZ and the Tutaevsky Motor Plant. As a result, not only US companies, but even citizens and banks that use dollars as a payment currency cannot cooperate with the publicly traded companies.
Immediately after the announcement of this news, there was an assumption that KamAZ could easily be left without car components even from “friendly” China. After all, local banks try not to make payments for structures that run the risk of falling victim to secondary sanctions, so as not to fall under them themselves.
According to Autoreview, the first such “refusenik” was the Chinese holding company Weichai, which decided to no longer supply its gas engines to the truck giant. Meanwhile, in Naberezhnye Chelny, they seriously planned to equip their classic trucks of the K3 generation with engines from this company.
In addition, KAMAZ employees now buy HanDe bridges and Fast Gear gearboxes from this holding company. This means that the threat of “sanctions” is also looming over the supply of these units… And it will now be extremely difficult to find a new supplier of this level, given the sanctions risks and logistical difficulties.
Meanwhile, KamAZ itself decided to exchange spare parts for ‘sanctioned’ European-made trucks. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.
