German, Polish and French lighting equipment, which was actively bought by domestic manufacturers of cars, buses and even tractors, has now become a “sanction”. This means that factories must hastily look for an alternative to foreign headlights and lanterns. Will they find it, the AvtoVzglyad portal discovered.

The Belarusian company “Rudensk” plans to replace European suppliers of automotive optics. For example, in February, the Ural Automobile Plant, which previously bought Hella optics, ordered 3,000 sets of low- and high-beam headlights, as well as fog lamps for Ural Next trucks, for the first time in February.

In addition, the company supplies headlights to most of the Russian automotive industry: UAZ and AVTOVAZ car plants, as well as PAZ and LiAZ buses. All products are made of components from friendly countries – Russia, India and China.

As the manufacturer assures, each product undergoes climatic, mechanical and electrical tests. For example, moisture resistance tests are carried out for four days at 96 percent humidity and 45 degrees Celsius.

And by the way, about import substitution. Not all partners from friendly countries turned out to be real friends. For example, the Chinese holding company Weichai decided to no longer supply its gas engines for KamAZ trucks.
