KamAZ has been able to set up various partnerships in recent years. So, foreigners helped KAMAZ to produce braking systems, diesel engines, gearboxes and much more. But now (for known reasons) Western partners have begun to pull out of these joint ventures.

As the AvtoVzglyad portal has already said, KamAZ recently “picked up” a foreign plant for the production of braking systems, since the German Knorr-Bremse AG withdrew from the capital of the company Knorr-Bremse Kama. At the same time, the factory continued its production activities due to the high localization of products.

Other joint ventures – with Cummins and ZF – will also continue their activities, reports Autoreview. According to the publication, Cummins engines and ZF mechanical gearboxes, which KamAZ now assembles, will simply be “nationalized” and localized.

From now on, the nine-liter Cummins ISLe 8.9 KamAZ-667 will be called, and the European ones will receive the indexes 2131 and 2181 – these are the former ZF 9S1310 and 16S1820, respectively. In addition, the localization of both transmissions is now in full swing.

In addition, the truck giant will arrange the supply of spare parts for European trucks. It is not yet clear whether KAMAZ dealers will repair imported commercial vehicles, but they certainly intend to sell auto parts for foreign cars.
