The first step is to remember that the operation of the air conditioner depends on the presence of freon in it, and not on its quality and expiration date, which is actually not written anywhere. There are many examples where an air conditioner, which was filled both five and seven years ago, does its job perfectly. The second important point is the volume of the “healing” gas. With the emphasis on the last word: he may or may not be! He’s a petrol! Even a minimal hole, thinner than a hair, will be reason enough for a complete and all-encompassing void in the system. And then it doesn’t matter how much you fill up – it’s all in vain.
If the car does not cool, you must first identify the cause and only then tackle the refueling. In three out of four cases, worn, damaged or simply corroded pipes are to blame, another quarter of the blame lies with the coupling itself. And unfortunately, you can’t cure them all by refueling. However, this is not the most important.
Due to the events of February, there is an acute shortage of Freon from the brand in Russia. It first tripled in price and then just disappeared. There’s Chinese, which is an obscure and incomprehensible goo that some particularly fragile systems just can’t perceive. By the way, usually oil is added to the “replacement” gas, which lubricates the system and shows a leak. So before the change, the remains must be removed, emptied. Will they do it on the sidelines? Of course not.
And finally: air conditioning is not the most complicated, but very reliable unit. But strangely enough, it also needs maintenance. The radiator should be washed, the hoses inspected and the system cleaned. Performing the above operations, you can get a much better result than on the sidelines of the Krasnodar Territory.
