On behalf of the Russian division of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing in Russia, a composite rotor shaft was developed for an electric medium crossover concept car. Thus, the production of spare parts will gradually start in the country, including for promising cars that are not yet on the market for sale.
The composite rotor shaft of the concept car of an electric medium crossover was developed at the Composites of Russia engineering center of Moscow State Technical University. NE Bauman, as already mentioned, commissioned by the Russian division of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing.
For the design of the product, the specialists of Moscow State Technical University. NE Bauman used advanced software systems as well as their own developments. As a result, the optimal reinforcement scheme and technology for the production of shafts were chosen.
As told AvtoVzglyad in Baumanka, the thermographic analysis carried out by specialists, as well as the thermal imaging method for control using ultrasonic stimulation, showed the high quality of the manufactured composite shafts and also confirmed the possibility of their use in a real Hyundai concept car. Most likely, we are talking about the innovative electric car Ioniq 5.
While there are still life tests and work is underway to adapt the technology to the required production volumes, it can already be said that the country has already laid a foundation for its own production of auto parts.
