Gorky Automobile Plant Stopped Its Conveyor Belt

In the current situation, with most Russian car factories shut down, the news that GAZ is also shutting down its conveyor belts seems alarming: is the infamous shortage of auto parts to blame? But no: Nizhny Novgorod’s site is taking a break to announce a two-week general corporate vacation.

As a representative of the GAZ brand told the AvtoVzglyad portal, the company will begin the work necessary to launch the latest Sobol NN during the summer holidays this year. Remember, this van should be on the gas conveyor before the end of the year.

Sobol NN will not only be an alternative for Ford Transit vans, but also for the more compact Citroën Jumpy and Peugeot Expert. To accelerate the release of the novelty, the Industrial Development Fund (IDF) will provide the GAZ Group with a concessional loan in the amount of 828 million rubles.

As our editors found out, in today’s reality a gasoline van costs about 2,200,000 rubles, and a diesel van 150-200 thousand more. Pure freight versions will be the first to go in the series, and then – freight passenger and passenger versions.

As for the above-mentioned company holiday, not only part of the engineering corps will be left without rest, but also workers who operate production – they will carry out preventive maintenance on equipment.
