The Russian authorities have set a course for electrification: the government is developing infrastructure, supporting car factories that have decided to produce electric vehicles and subsidizing, although so far only in theory, the purchase of “green” vehicles. Future owners of “battery” cars are promised a fantastic future. And what awaits those who do not intend to leave the combustion engine? This question was answered by the experts of the portal “AvtoVzglyad”.
Even despite the fact that only three years ago, the authorities, represented by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, considered electric vehicles “irrelevant” and much less suitable for our country than natural gas vehicles, they decided to develop this particular direction. Why? Because there is no other way – the whole world is “electrifying”, and Russia simply cannot stand on the sidelines.
Charging stations are actively being built in large cities, according to government estimates – there are costs for maintaining plants for the production of electric vehicles, as well as for subsidizing the purchase of “environmentally friendly” vehicles. Recall that since July 14, the state program of preferential car loans has been working again in the country, with LADA, UAZ and GAZ cars getting a 20% discount, and Evolute (becoming Chinese electric cars in the future) – as much as 35%.
Another question is that it is impossible to switch the entire fleet of the country to electric traction. After all, even if we do not take into account the personal preferences of citizens (there are those who will never give up the internal combustion engine), there will be cars of rescue and military services that will not be able to switch to “batteries” because of the specific purpose. Such machines must always be ready – delays due to empty batteries are unacceptable.
And if we leave most of the combustion engine infrastructure behind, we must also maintain the supply of fuel, fuels and lubricants, all that is needed to maintain conventional cars. But if there are 10 times less such conventional cars, the price for all consumables, for the same fuel, will go up enormously,” said the columnist for the Drome portal. Sergey Tsyganovwho spoke at the AvtoVzglyad portal online conference.
Therefore, mass electrification promises a lot of trouble not only for those who dare to buy electric toys, for which our country is not yet ready, but also for everyone else. And more about the “green” outlook – in the inclusion of the online conference of the portal “AvtoVzglyad”, you can view it here.
