Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that from January 1, 2023, the Moscow High Speed Diameter (MSD) will be free for residents of the capital and the region, only transit motorists pay for the fare.
– Today we made another important decision – MSD will be free for residents of Moscow and the Moscow region. Tolls will be introduced for transit motorists from January 1, 2023,” he wrote in his telegram channel.
The Moscow high-speed diameter connects the Simferopol highway with the M11 Moscow-St. Petersburg. In addition, it has a branch to the M12 Moscow-Kazan highway under construction. MSD will also connect outgoing highways such as Dmitrovskoye, Altufevskoye, Yaroslavskoye, Schelkovskoye, Kashirskoye, Varshavskoye, as well as the Entuziastov Highway, Ryazansky and Volgogradsky prospects.
