After the factories in Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg stopped the production of Hyundai and Kia cars, the Russians were basically left without their beloved Koreans. However, according to South Korea’s customs authorities, a strong flow of locally assembled cars has now headed towards Russia.

Imports of cars from abroad started to recover: according to Kommersant, according to the June results, passenger cars worth $22 million, or, by weight, 1,600 tons, were exported from the country of Morning Calm.

It can be assumed that a large part of the equipment was purchased by Russian citizens under the system of “parallel imports”. Such cars can now be found on the sites of “gray” dealers at very attractive prices.

In turn, the Russian offices of Kia and Hyundai began to issue certification documents for imported models! This means that purebred “Koreans” will also show up in “white” car dealerships.

However, pre-crisis supply volumes were significantly more severe. So, in February 2022, 11,600 cars worth $146 million were imported into Russia. Unfortunately, customs officers don’t work in units, but tons and dollars.

In general, as the shortage on the domestic counter rages, the Russians are looking for ways and opportunities. One of these ways to buy a car is “manual” import from Armenia, which is one of the most affordable ways to buy vehicles today. Details are on the AvtoVzglyad portal.
