Electric buses in Moscow are under water during another downpour

About 1,000 electric Mosgortrans buses, which run in harmony with nature through the streets of Moscow, have been held hostage by natural disasters and the activities of another metropolitan department, Mosvodostok. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” became interested in the safety of passengers of “trains” during the rains in the metropolis.

Another “unexpected” rain that occurred in Moscow on July 25, 2022, as in previous years, proved to be a force majeure disaster for the city’s utilities.

Once again, the streets of the capital were flooded, turning both the humble old Daewoo Matiz pizza truck and the luxurious Mercedes Maybach S-class into immobile drowned people.

Last summer, senior city officials justified themselves by blaming similar floods on “leaves and twigs” clogged street drains and fantastic record-breaking rainfall.

This time, there were no clear statements or apologies from Moscow City Hall officials at all. Like, well, cars sank, well, God bless them…

But good Maybach. At least it’s gasoline-powered: If water enters the interior while crossing a flooded metropolitan street, then the biggest problem for its passengers is wet feet. And in the electric bus, which, judging by the video, also fell into the flood, everything can be much more serious. After all, it’s all electricity and the water splashes at the feet of dozens of passengers. Might as well be zapped! Or is it still not?

We suspect that the electrical chassis of such a machine must somehow be protected from the effects of road moisture. But it’s unlikely she counted on swimming in a puddle that flooded the passenger compartment of an electric bus. Perhaps the capital’s authorities should finally do something about the regular flooding in the streets? If it is not in the interest of motorists and pedestrians, then at least for the love of the electric buses promoted in every way by the mayor’s office!
