Russian lawmakers do not deviate from the tradition at almost every session of the State Duma to come up with at least one legislative act with certain new penalties for drivers.
It seems there is nowhere else to “tighten the screws” – but no! There will always be a friendly deputy who will find a “gap” in Russian law to push in an amendment with an even harsher penalty for an increasingly specific type of violation.
Exactly the same thing happened at the last spring session of the Duma. The disciplined deputies passed even more brutal punishments for drivers who had already been deprived of their “rights” and took care of the “garbage problem” along the country’s highways.
