This spring, the AvtoVzglyad portal reported that sanctions caused Ural Motorcycles to lose the ability to purchase components and ship products. Therefore, the leaders of the Irbit Motor Plant had to take a very desperate step and change the production location. This move eventually took place and the AvtoVzglyad portal reports on the details.

It’s no secret that it was the Irbit Motor Plant that was one of the last fragments of Soviet industrial culture, making products in high demand in foreign markets. Nearly 100% of Ural motorcycles were sent abroad, mainly to the US and Canada.

As a result, the “carriage” manufacturer turned out to have a rather cunning plan to successfully export equipment to its main markets. The main components are made at the former production site, but the final assembly was moved to Kazakhstan – to the city of Petropavlovsk.

The first model to be assembled outside of Russia was the bright red GearUp, the flagship of the Ural motorcycle line. It features a classic 745cc four-stroke boxer that puts out 41 horsepower.

As the Ural Motorcycles representative assures, the forced move did not affect the design and quality of the equipment produced.

Meanwhile, luxury car maker Aurus is also planning to launch its own heavy bike. True, the car, which will be called Merlon, will not be gasoline, but purely electric. The FSO will be the main operator. It was announced that the two-wheeled novelty will receive a 190 horsepower electric motor, which will allow this Aurus to accelerate to “hundreds” in 3.7 seconds. The maximum speed of the model reaches 200 km / h, and on a single battery charge it is ready to travel up to 200 kilometers.
