Until recently, almost all car brands, both those who officially left Russia and those who “suspended” their activities in our country, in every way emphasized strict compliance with their warranty obligations to Russian car owners. The AvtoVzglyad portal found that some of them have in fact unilaterally terminated warranty support for their customers.

Almost all car brands in Russia, regardless of what decisions their international leadership makes, until recently acted on the principle “we do not leave ours”. That is, although they did not really sell cars on the Russian market, they generally adhered to their warranty obligations. For example, even the dealers of the American GM who officially slammed the door. That’s why Cadillac and Chevrolet owners still have the option to repair their car under warranty. At least for now. Leaves often and through a scandal and demands an official waiver of warranty obligations.

Meanwhile, it seems that “foreign partners” are slowly coming to the conclusion that it is now quite possible to “throw” the Russian customer. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” learned about another strange story that confirms this conclusion.

It is characteristic that we are not talking about the misadventures of the unrequited grandfather with his Renault Logan, but – for a minute! – about a fairly wealthy young man who owns a Lamborghini Urus. Such a device cost him about 30,000,000 rubles. So: it turns out that in Russia now also the rich are crying – on the basis of a lost guarantee!

It turned out at the time that the car owner decided to carry out scheduled maintenance on his Lamba, when he was informed: from now on, replacing oil filters and performing other routine work now costs more than 200,000 rubles. Before the general hysteria, the service was noticeably cheaper. But it does not matter: what kind of car, such prices – noblesse oblige, as they say. But even more interesting…

The “icing on the cake” in a conversation with the manager of the official Lamborghini dealer – the car dealership Avtodom, which is located 60 kilometers from the Moscow ring road – was a much more unpleasant discovery: the official warranty for Lamborghini cars in Russia is actually no longer valid! Confirming that everything is so serious, the dealer has even sent an official letter to the unpleasantly surprised customer. By the way, it is available to the editors of the AvtoVzglyad portal.

The document says that the Lamborghini after-sales service supposedly because of sanctions does not work in the following forms, we call them: LIASS (warranty repair system, parts catalog, technical support), XECO (spare parts ordering system), ODlS (system diagnosis of electronic units), LAP – (training system), DMS (document management system).

– Current European sanctions (e.g. EU Reg. 428/2022) imposed on the Russian Federation prohibit the manufacturer from supplying vehicles and related spare parts, as well as providing them with technical support…, says an official letter to the customer from no less official dealer.

That’s basically the branded “post service” ordered to live a long time.

“On the fingers” they explained to the car owner: the warranty works only in exceptional cases, if the car completely “stands up”. And even then, strictly after special agreement with the representative office of the brand in Russia. And all minor technical problems caused by, for example, poor factory assembly, unreliable operation of certain systems and components, or anything else of that nature, will have to be ‘treated’ by the motorist at his own expense. A bad example is known to be contagious. So we won’t be surprised if other brands, also not so premium, follow the winding path that, as it turns out, has already been walked by the Italian brand in Russia.
