Mercedes-Benz has announced a grandiose recall: 38,252 vehicles are going to service in Russia at the same time. In addition, as rarely happens, the recall campaign does not concern new, but rather “older” cars – SUVs from 2004-2014.
The service program includes the bodywork of the W164, which produced the ML and GL models, as well as the R-class minibus (W251). All of these machines have a risk of vacuum brake booster failure, which can literally “splash out of the joints” due to corrosion. In the worst case, the “vacuum box” can become depressurized, after which the brakes lose their effectiveness.
As a result, the management of Mercedes-Benz has decided to call all mentioned cars for a business service. There, specialists will check the condition of the amplifier and, if necessary, replace it with a new one.
Meanwhile, the German automaker decided to reduce “the extent” of its presence in the domestic market. To this end, the company is drastically curtailing its direct presence in our country. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.
