By decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the first deputy chief of the traffic police of Russia, Lieutenant General Vladimir Shvetsov, went on a well-deserved rest. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.

Lieutenant General Vladimir Shvetsov, who celebrated his 65th birthday on August 31, was fired from the police by a presidential decree dated August 1, 2022 for reaching the service limit. It is curious that now the ex-deputy of the current chief of traffic police, Lieutenant General Mikhail Chernikov, had the same rank as his boss. Vladimir Shvetsov is known for having been in the state traffic inspection system for about 40 years.

During his service, he found not only the last chief traffic officer of the USSR, General Leodnid Zverkovsky, but even his predecessor Valery Lukyanov. Vladimir Shvetsov has been working at the headquarters of the traffic police since 1996. Since then, many heads of this department, as well as interior ministers, have changed. Only Shvetsov did not change. This in itself is an achievement.

During his service, the lieutenant general managed not to participate in one of the semi-undercover confrontations that became widely known, periodically shaking the department before his eyes. When we talk about more or less “new” events of this kind, I only remember a small shadow cast on the General by the scandalous story of the past year. Subsequently, several senior traffic police officers “blew up” in a stinking story surrounding Natalya Agre’s Movement without Danger LLC, which had signed a contract to create completely new rules and methods for training drivers in Russia. The money has been spent successfully and novice drivers are taught the old way.

Be that as it may, Lieutenant General Vladimir Shvetsov no longer has an official relationship with the service and begins to spend a comfortable pastime in his own dacha on the Black Sea coast, built, we are sure, only with honestly earned money in traffic police.
