Egypt will help us: Russia will introduce eco-standards “Euro-6”

The Ministry of Industry and Trade began to prepare the documents necessary for the implementation of environmental standards “Euro-6”. Note that the current Euro-5 standard was introduced on January 1, 2016. And according to many experts, it is enough for the Russian reality.

True, the transition to Euro-6 will not take place now, but only in 3-5 years – in the range of 2025-2028. At the same time, Igor Korovkin, executive director of the Association of Automobile Manufacturers of Russia (OAR), told Gazeta.Ru, the production of most complex automotive components can be located in Russia. In addition, China, Iran and Egypt will be able to assist with the supply of components and parts.

In fairness, it should be noted that the Russian car industry now produces Euro-2 equipment. This is a temporary solution as foreign companies refused to supply fuel equipment to our factories. Therefore, it is reckless to immediately aim for sixth-level environmental standards, to say the least.

In addition to injectors, fuel pumps and other equipment, domestic companies will also need to set up the production of control electronics. However, as representatives of the Moscow company Mikron assure, they have already made a wide range of Russian chips specifically for the automotive industry.
