In Russia, they plan to create a powerful hybrid power unit. The project involves the Moscow Polytechnic University and the G-Drive Racing racing team. To this end, the “Racing Engineering” training program is launched at the leading technical university.
Students will develop and implement a hybrid power plant, which will then be integrated into one of the racing prototypes. It could be the Russian sports cars Fenix and the recently revived Marussia GT, as well as the cars of the G-Drive Racing team. Both cars are already participating in the Russian series of endurance circuit races.
As for G-Drive Racing, this racing team is a multiple winner of international championships and an absolute record holder in the LMP2 category.
Roman Rusinov, sports director of the G-Drive Racing team, will be the project’s mentor and Pablo Iturralde, engineering director at Moscow Poly, will be the project manager. At the end of the course, the top six students will have the opportunity to join a racing team.
