Fines for unpaid parking started in Crimea

Fans of driving to the Crimean peninsula must have heard that the Yalta authorities introduced a municipal system of paid parking a year ago: there are now 36 parking spaces for 565 paid places in the city. However, neither tourists nor townspeople were in a hurry to pay rubles for parking, because there was simply no fine for the corresponding violation.

Unsurprisingly, Yalta’s budget has earned only 1,500,000 rubles from motorists over the past six months. Now that sanctions are in place for violators, the amounts should become much more impressive! Although the rates – by Moscow standards – are only pennies: for an hour of parking a car will have to pay from 35 to 50 rubles.

And it is really more profitable to pay than to pay the fine, since the fine for unpaid parking will be 1000 rubles. It is curious that the new measure does not only apply to Yalta, but to the entire Crimea, where parking spaces are yet to be created.

Mobile complexes “Dozor-M” will be used to solve offenders. This means that traffic controllers will drive between parking zones and determine the number of cars whose owners have not paid a fee.

In general, it is a good idea to go to the beaches of Crimea this summer, not to say that frankly it is not a success. The Russian Black Sea coast is not ready to receive guests, neither in terms of transport accessibility, nor in terms of hotels, restaurants and other entertainment.
