Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin held a meeting on the development of road construction in the Krasnodar Territory. While discussing the details of road construction around Sochi, he suggested an unexpected way to improve the coast, according to the AvtoVzglyad portal.

From the landfills formed during the construction of the future high-speed route, around Sochi, beaches can be poured onto the coast. Marat Khusnullin instructed his subordinates to “work through” this idea. The AvtoVzglyad portal can now authoritatively state that nothing good will come of it. In the Sochi region, as you know, the coast is rocky. The shoreline here is a bunch of cobblestones of one size or another.

You can, of course, try to fill the sandy beach in such conditions. But it will exist exactly until the first storm, which will wash away everything that has accumulated and will expose the cobblestones that lay in this place before the “beautification” in their original form.

There is an option to fill the beach with pieces of rock the size of rubble. The storm probably won’t wash them away anytime soon. But the nuance is that this crushed stone will have sharp edges, unlike the round stone pellets, which have been naturally twisted in the Black Sea surf over the centuries. Walking barefoot on Sochi’s existing beaches, even covered with round pebbles, is by no means a gift for heels.

And along the sharp edges of the gravel of the future “Khusnullinsky” beach, it will be possible to move safely only in something like sneakers with a hard sole. Perhaps, in time, such a place will find its regulars – lovers of swimming and sunbathing in boots and trekking shoes. But it’s hard to believe.

In addition to the beach construction revolution, a meeting with Khusnullin also announced that feasibility studies for the construction of ring roads around major coastal settlements in the Sochi region would be completed by September 2022. The efforts of designers and builders will be concentrated on the sections Goryachiy Klyuch – Agoy, the Tuapse bypass, the Lazarevsky bypass, the Sochi city bypass and the Adler bypass.

The bypass around Adler will be a four-lane highway intended for traffic with a speed of at least 80 km/h. It goes through three pairs of tunnels and five viaducts with a support height of up to 80 meters. Three nodes will be organized on it, the largest of which will appear near the village of Orel-Izumrud.
