As you know, the Pavlovsk bus factory has always made front-engined cars. However, in the new generation of buses, which will be marketed under the GAZ brand, the engine is located at the rear. The AvtoVzglyad portal tells what else the passenger novelty will surprise the Russians with.
According to the manufacturer, the rear engine layout has brought many advantages. This is a record area of clearance, the lowest floor level, wide aisles between the rows of seats, as well as thoughtful ergonomics of the driver’s seat.
The car itself, called Citymax 9, is a 9-meter bus with a length of 9 meters and a capacity of 77 passengers, that is, we have a representative of the middle class of passenger cars designed for urban and suburban transport .
Also of interest are a spacious storage area, a retractable electric ramp and a “kneeling” system, which allows you to “squat” at stops. In front of the passenger entrance there is a pair of wide double doors.
The diesel version, equipped with a 4-cylinder YaMZ-534 engine and a 6-band “automatic” GAZ brand, will go first in the series. But later on, the performance range will have to be supplemented with gas and electric options.
Production should start before the end of this year. This requires 1.78 billion rubles in investment, including 940 million for the creation of a diesel version, 470 million of which is a soft loan from the Industrial Development Fund.
– Citymax−9 opens a fundamentally new line of buses, which the GAZ group will develop in the coming years, – Vadim Sorokin, president of the GAZ group, specified to the AvtoVzglyad portal.
As has become known to our editors, the new generation will contain buses from 9 to 19 meters in length, with a capacity of 70 to 200 people. In addition, new items will be produced in all bus factories of the GAZ Group.
Meanwhile, photos of a new version of the well-deserved PAZ-3205 bus appeared on the web: in the photos you can see that instead of four lined “round” Hella brand cars, the well-deserved car will get an ordinary “Soviet Union” style” round headlights.
