Contrary to fears, in Izhevsk, not a screwdriver, but a full-fledged production of battery “Largus” will be organized – with stamping, welding and body painting. The management of the LADA brand assures that the first test units will be ready in about six months. In addition, engineers are immediately preparing several versions: a van, plus five- and seven-seater station wagons.
According to factory workers, there is no need to seriously reform the body before the introduction of electric filling, as the engine should be placed directly under the hood and the batteries on the floor of the cabin. Now designers are choosing which battery to install: nickel-cobalt-magnesium and lithium-iron phosphate.
– It is too early to talk about the timing of the release of the serial version – it depends on the capabilities of the infrastructure. In general, electric vehicles are one of the obvious trends, so we believe in the success of the project. It is clear to us that there will be demand from both private and business customers,” the head of the auto giant, Maxim Sokolov, told the AvtoVzglyad portal.
According to preliminary estimates, the novelty will be able to travel about 250 kilometers on a single charge. But we repeat: these are only estimates, as the full-fledged work on LADA e-Largus is only just beginning. In any case, AVTOVAZ will not leave the Izhevsk site, and the appearance of an electric car opens up new horizons for her.
