Speaking of the sixth Discovery, the head of Jaguar Land Rover, Thierry Bollore, emphasized that by opening a new chapter in its history, the SUV will rise to the next level: it will become more status and more expensive. The company hopes that with the transition to the next generation, Disco will attract new customers – the target audience of the model that has replaced the generation will be “demanding families”. The ones closer to Range Rover than Defender.
As for the technical component, according to our colleagues at Auto Express, the next Discovery will be built on the MLA-Flex modular platform – the same “trolley”, we recall, underlies the latest Range Rover. The new “Disco” offers customers a huge choice of powertrains – petrol and diesel engines, hybrid and electric installations.
Of course, the sixth Discovery will boast many “advanced” options. On the one hand, this is good – discerning buyers will appreciate it. But on the other hand, rich equipment and the use of the latest technology will inevitably lead to a “caustic” price.
However, the start of sales is still a long way off: it is assumed that the new Disco will debut no earlier than 2025. Therefore, it is premature to talk about prices, as in general about the Russian outlook for the model.
