The Scientific Center for Road Safety (NTS BDD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has calculated how many fines have been issued by traffic police inspectors regarding drivers. The AvtoVzglyad portal states that the number of fines continues to grow intensively.

The traffic police have reported the opening of 90,158,066 road safety administrative cases in the first half of 2022, almost 20% more than in the same period last year.

Taking into account that in Russia there are about 55 million “rights” owners, it turns out that each of them “brought” about two traffic violations in six months. The majority of the protocols for civilians (88.3%) are based on the materials of the cameras for automatic recording of traffic violations.

The number of such materials for the first half of the year reached 79,577,642, which is 24.4% more than a year earlier. At the same time, 10,580,424 violations were stopped by live police officers, which is 7.1% less.

During the reporting period, 88,515,876 (+21.4%) decisions were issued imposing an administrative fine of 61.9 billion rubles. Of these, 69,707,510 (+26.3%) have already been exported, at a cost of 29.4 billion rubles.

For example, the drivers paid less than half of the fines due to them. At the same time, the “average check” from the refunded fine is 421 rubles.
