The possibility of free travel on the new bridge over the Amur between Russia’s Blagoveshchensk and China’s Heihe and back will disappear from 10 August. This has been stated by the Ministry of Transport of the Amur region. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.

– The Russian-Chinese car bridge completes its work in a test mode, which means a transition to a toll system. From August 10, the toll must be paid at the toll station (TOC) located at the entrance of the bridge. The amount of the fee depends on the height of the car and the number of axles, the ministry said in a release.

Traffic on the bridge was not opened in test mode until June 10, 2022, although it was ready for use two years ago: the Russian Ministry of Construction officially allowed it in May 2020. But construction has since been halted due to coronavirus restrictions.

Test mode meant free travel. At the moment, traffic on the bridge is only allowed for trucks, although it can pass for a day, in addition to 630 trucks, another 164 buses and 68 cars. Earlier, the governor of the Amur region, Vasily Orlov, said that the average cost of one car on the bridge would be 8,700 rubles.
