Despite the fact that the Russian authorities allowed car factories until February next year to produce cars without ERA-GLONASS modules, AvtoVAZ did not delay solving the panic button problem on the back burner. The residents of Togliatti have found suppliers and the first batch of vehicles equipped with an emergency response system has already rolled off the assembly line.
For example, from August 1, ERA-GLONASS units will be installed on all LADA cars again. At the same time, it is curious that panic buttons began to appear not only in very new cars, but also in those cars that previously left the assembly line and had even reached dealers.
True, we are talking about a shortened version of the system – without an automatic response in the event of an accident, only with a “manual” call for emergency services using the SOS key. Recall that the use of a simplified version of ERA-GLONASS, the Russian authorities allowed some automakers – in particular AVTOVAZ – in May.
By the way, soon airbags will return to the simplified LADA Granta. As the representatives of the concern told the AvtoVzglyad portal, the production of cars with airbags will begin before the end of August. But the ABS systems will have to wait – probably this year the problem will not be solved. The Volzhans try to form a “partner” with the Chinese, but so far without success.
