AvtoVAZ returned to a five-day workweek

After many months of car assembly problems due to component failure, AVTOVAZ is gradually restoring production. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.

On Monday, August 15, AVTOVAZ started working on a five-day schedule. At the end of June, the portal “AvtoVzglyad”, with reference to the messages of the company’s union, already reported on such plans from the plant’s management. It is known that the Togliatti Automobile Plant plans to switch to a six-day work week from the end of August. The LADA Granta and LADA Niva assembly lines will be the first to be launched in an enhanced mode. Later, from August 29, line B0, on which Renault Logan, LADA Xray and LADA Largus models were previously fitted, should start operating.

With the prospects for assembling both simplified and conventional configurations from Granta and Niva, everything is more or less clear. But there remains some intrigue surrounding the conveyor belt B0. The fact is that representatives of AVTOVAZ do not confirm the start of assembly of the LADA Largus model on it – from August 29 and even immediately on a six-day schedule.

In this regard, it can be assumed that instead of being launched, the B0 line will be intensively re-equipped for the production of LADA Vesta, when the equipment of the assembly line of this model, coming from the LADA Izhevsk plant, begins to to arrive in Togliatti. Recall that earlier the head of AVTOVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, announced the company’s plans to launch production of the updated LADA Vesta in early 2023.
