The patent images of Volvo’s new mysterious crossover have leaked to the internet. They raised many questions among car enthusiasts, and the most important is what kind of model is it: the restyled XC90 or the electric Embla, announced at the beginning of the year? The Swedes themselves are in no rush to reveal the intrigue, but most likely we still have Embla in front of us.
In favor of the Embla version is a plug instead of the radiator grille and the absence of exhaust pipes. And in general, this crossover is similar to the concept of the “green” Recharge, which was presented to the public last summer. By the way, it is far from a fact that the “battery” novelty will be called Embla, because the Swedes recently registered another trademark – EXC90.
We will know very soon what decision will be made in Volvo. The premiere of the new “train” is believed to take place in the coming weeks. Then the Swedes will probably reveal technical details, which are almost non-existent today. It is only known that the crossover is based on the SPA2 platform, the same “trolley” that underlies the Polestar 3. With this model, the novelty will also share the conveyor belt: production will take place in the American factory of the brand in South Carolina.
Recall that the Swedes are now also working on the next restyling of the XC90 – it will be the second for the second-generation model.
